Newbury is attracting more digital tech businesses, which is important given that the digital tech sector is growing 2.6 times faster than the UK economy.
The market town also puts in a strong performance in terms of productivity of local tech ecosystems. The town came second behind Bristol but ahead of Swindon in third amongst recent analysis.
Newbury’s tech footprint was the best-rated in the country, largely owing to Vodafone and Micro Focus, both of which have UK headquarters in the town. As well as both of these household tech names there are some growing, innovative start-ups and it’s clear that being based in the town offers them great lifestyle opportunities, a well-qualified workforce, a strong local economy and the best possible connectivity.
